I work for a Professor at Carleton University. He has been working on an academic publication entitled about Upper Canada and requires portraits of elite members of society. Some of the portraits have been found in "The Diary of Mrs John Graves Simcoe Wife of The First Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of Upper Canada 1792-96" and I’m wondering what reproduction usage is. The Possible copyright status says Not in Copyright; does that mean we are free to use it?
